What is Bulls in the City?
Bulls in the City is a free outdoor walking trail in Birmingham, Harborne and Boldmere from 16th July to 14th September – organised by and in support of Birmingham Hospice.
Our happy herd of 40 large and 88 mini bull sculptures have been scattered across the city for trail-goers to uncover one by one. Each sculpture bears the creative imprint of a local artist and has been proudly sponsored by a local business.
Bulls in the City isn’t just about awe-inspiring art — it’s about making a real difference. Join us for an event of colour, creativity, and community spirit, all rolled into one unforgettable experience for the people of Birmingham!
It’s a great day out for people of all ages – kids will love the bright and eye-catching art on display and older adults will enjoy exploring a city they know and love, with the chance to discover new favourite spots.
The trail is mainly located in Birmingham city centre, with two satellite herds in Boldmere and Harborne – but you can do the trail any way you like! Explore all the city centre sculptures one day and arrange to visit the satellite herds another day – or are you going to attempt discovering all 128 sculptures in one weekend?!

How can I complete the trail?
Bulls in the City is live for 8 weeks so it’s up to you how you complete the trail.

Together, we’re making every moment matter
Birmingham Hospice is not fully funded by the NHS, instead relying on fundraising and donations to fund our services. Now, more than ever, our expert and compassionate care is needed to ensure people die in a place of their choice, with dignity and in comfort. But the cost of care is soaring, making it harder for us to care for everyone who needs it. We want to ensure we’re here for local communities now, and in the future. By taking part in Bulls in the City as a school or business, visiting the trail with your family or just sharing our message, you will make a difference.
Donate today to support your local hospice.
